# Find an earlier iOS or Android build

**AppBarn keeps a Build catalog for each App and Environment.** Use it to identify the exact version you previously uploaded and retrieve the stored artifact.

## Find the right Build

1. Open your Workspace, Project and App.
2. Select the Environment and review its Build history.
3. Compare the version, build number, checksum and recorded source/CI provenance.
4. Download the selected Build when your access allows it. [See the CLI build commands](/cli/builds).

**Example:** A regression appeared in version 4.8. A developer retrieves version 4.7's IPA from the production Environment and checks its commit metadata before reproducing the issue.

## What this does not do

- AppBarn does not compile a Build from a Git commit. You must have uploaded that binary first.
- Provenance is available only when supplied or detected during upload. It is not proof that all build inputs were trustworthy.
- Automated CLI lookup **by Git commit** is planned under CLI-0005, not a shipped command. Do not invent one in scripts or agent prompts.
- An old iOS IPA still needs valid signing and provisioning to install. [iOS guidance](/guides/install-ios).
